The Rolling Stones - You Can't Always Get What You Want - LA Forum Live 1975 OFFICIAL

From the album LA Friday (Live 1975) available from www.StonesArchive.com.
The Rolling Stones performing "You Can't Always Get What You Want" at the Los Angeles Forum, California, USA on Sunday 13th July 1975, part of the legendary Tour of the Americas (TOTA). The track is from the album Let It Bleed (1969), and was released as the B-side for Honky Tonk Women. Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, and produced by Jimmy Miller.

I saw her today at the reception
A glass of wine in her hand
I knew she was gonna meet her connection
At her feet was footloose man

You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes well you might find
You get what you need

I went down to the demonstration
To get my fair share of abuse
Singing, "We're gonna vent our frustration
If we don't we're gonna blow a 50-amp fuse"

You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes well you just might find
You get what you need

I went down to the Chelsea drugstore
To get your prescription filled
I was standing in line with Mr. Jimmy
And man, did he look pretty ill
We decided that we would have a soda
My favorite flavor, cherry red
I sung my song to Mr. Jimmy
Yeah, and he said one word to me, and that was "dead"
I said to him

Yeah, one these was my first one, most likely this one or the first show
since I don't recall The Eagles opening like they did in between! At 16
years old, I was up in the front for a while; but a which tune I was booted
back to my real seat?

It seems to me that some of Ronnie's best solos are during live
performances of "You Can't Always Get What You Want".

Klingt reichlich bekifft. Sie spielen diesen Song so unerträglich lang,
dass man ihn irgendwann mehr hören kann.

The original "LA Friday" recording I believe was derived from Millard, the
guy who recorded shows using a wheelchair to camouflage his gear. Who knows
why it was called by the 'distributers' "LA Friday"? That only confuses
everything. Let's hope The Stones release more "Stones Archive " releases!

Author romelovesdan ( ago)
Crazy, But Yes! Friday July 11th, the THIRD show at the Los Angeles Forum
venue. You can compare using the various audience recordings made by the
late infamous concert taper Millard. Rolling Stones 1975 The Lost Millard
Masters derived from the "Whores.,..., and a Bottle of Jack complete LA
Forum tapes" box set.

Author Damian Brown ( ago)

Author Euterpe420 ( ago)
Not saying that's a bad thing. In fact, I was stoned when I posted that.

Author Damian Brown ( ago)
So?

Author Euterpe420 ( ago)
I'm not sure, but I'm thinking drugs had to have played a part in this.

happy B. ‪#‎Mickjagger‬ day!

Author Deborah Corff ( ago)
It may be rudimentary but back in the days (70s) I could tell a new RS
album was released when they played the first 5 seconds of the new song,
just by Charlie Watts signature intro. I would hear that drum and know it
was a RS song.

Author smirch ( ago)
I dislike Meg White's drumming for the very same reason I dislike Mr.
Watts' style. It's rudimentary and boring. Anyone who says otherwise
doesn't understand drumming and shouldn't be in this conversation.

Author woodytheduke ( ago)
this coming from a guy who probably likes meg whites drumming

Author dave lastman ( ago)
he will be playing with them every show the up and coming tour

Author dave lastman ( ago)
outstanding version and great quality for the seventies

Author smirch ( ago)
I'm sorry but Watts is about as one dimensional as a drummer can get
without turning into a drum machine. He plays like someone who doesn't
enjoy the instrument. You may value his cold playing style but calling him
central to the stones sound is incredibly inaccurate in my opinion.

Author Dewayne Clark ( ago)
Ah ok thanks, that makes total sense if I had only stopped to think about
it lol
