The Rolling Stones - You Can't Always Get What You Want - LA Forum Live 1975 OFFICIAL

From the album LA Friday (Live 1975) available from www.StonesArchive.com.
The Rolling Stones performing "You Can't Always Get What You Want" at the Los Angeles Forum, California, USA on Sunday 13th July 1975, part of the legendary Tour of the Americas (TOTA). The track is from the album Let It Bleed (1969), and was released as the B-side for Honky Tonk Women. Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, and produced by Jimmy Miller.

I saw her today at the reception
A glass of wine in her hand
I knew she was gonna meet her connection
At her feet was footloose man

You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes well you might find
You get what you need

I went down to the demonstration
To get my fair share of abuse
Singing, "We're gonna vent our frustration
If we don't we're gonna blow a 50-amp fuse"

You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes well you just might find
You get what you need

I went down to the Chelsea drugstore
To get your prescription filled
I was standing in line with Mr. Jimmy
And man, did he look pretty ill
We decided that we would have a soda
My favorite flavor, cherry red
I sung my song to Mr. Jimmy
Yeah, and he said one word to me, and that was "dead"
I said to him

I dislike Meg White's drumming for the very same reason I dislike Mr.
Watts' style. It's rudimentary and boring. Anyone who says otherwise
doesn't understand drumming and shouldn't be in this conversation.

Author Deborah Corff (10 months)
It may be rudimentary but back in the days (70s) I could tell a new RS
album was released when they played the first 5 seconds of the new song,
just by Charlie Watts signature intro. I would hear that drum and know it
was a RS song.

Author Carlotta Medioli (2 years)
This was BEFORE Keith made everyone understand in the band he had to be the
only guitar character in this band. No room for others, except sparring
partners. That is why Ron had so much space (and he used it so well.....
like Mick Taylor did for some years before.......). Ron was a great guitar
player, then.

Author Julian W. - Gwangju (1 year)
Well thank god for the saxophone player on this track is all i can say. Was
just busy thinking: wow, everyone sounds bored AND stoned on this track,
then he starts hooting and honking everyone else off stage. Please list all
the players as per usual! - Oh good; Mick thanks him at the end of the
track, and his name is listed in the tags. It is Trevor Lawrence. He
doesn't have a wiki page yet (shame!) but he does have his own channel on
Jango 'dot' com.
